Photo of North Ceredigion, West Wales, UK, the winter of 2010 is proving to be one of the coldest winters for years, with much of the country under a blanket of snow. This shot was taken on the A487 coast road between Aberaeron and Aberystwyth using a Canon G9.
You can buy this image as a print, greetings card, mousemat or postcard etc... Many of my photos are available for purchase as prints from my Photobox Gallery: Aberystwyth Online Gallery please feel free to take a look.
After an evening of light snow and freezing temperatures Aberystwyth and the rest of Wales awakes to sunshine!
Although Aber did not see a great deal of snow, inland saw snow lying up to 8 inches deep, no wonder town seemed very quiet with very little early morning traffic, town resembled a ghost town with very few commuters and shoppers. Schools throughout Ceredigion closed as many found the weather conditions difficult.
With another big freeze tonight temperatures could hit lows of -8, leaving driving conditions treacherous for the morning. With further cold weather forecast the winter of 2010 will be the coldest in 30 years.

Richard Rees from Penrhyn Bay has written an account of his memories of the great snowfall in 1982 at Clarach, near Borth.
I was living at Rhyd Meirionydd Farm on the Borth Clarach Road, about halfway between Borth and Aberystwyth.
