Contributions from the studio can occur at any time of the day including early mornings, evenings and weekends. Youll be prepared to receive phone calls at home or on your mobile, occasionally with as little as an hours notice, asking you to come to the studio to meet the contributor and set up the studio. Adventurous Young People Saddle Up & Cycle Around The UK

Posted by Llanrhystud Childminder On Tuesday, April 28, 2009 0 comments
I was sent this fascinating article:
I thought you might be interested to hear about a group of young volunteers who will be cycling through Aberystwyth from Monday 15 June to Tuesday 16 June.

Every summer, teams of amazing and adventurous young people saddle up and cycle around the UK, stopping at schools, youth clubs and festivals along the way to inspire others to live a bit more sustainably. The teams perform the award-winning Morning Choices play and run hands-on workshops about subjects like ethical fashion or bike maintenance, challenging the thousands of people they meet along the way to do something in their own lives to create positive change. While on the road, tour members live as low-impact as possible, buying local food, traveling carbon-free by bike, and obsessively recycling, composting and water-saving as they go!

Richard Branson’s Firm Virgin Wants Extra Return Services

Posted by Llanrhystud Childminder On Tuesday, April 21, 2009 0 comments
I found this fascinating article today:
Virgin Trains and Arriva Trains Wales (ATW) want to run new services along stretches of the same route to London.

Richard Branson’s firm Virgin wants to run an extra two return services per day between Wrexham and London, in addition to the one it already operates on the route.

ATW also wants to run two new services along part of the same route.

Like the Wrexham and Shropshire service, these would call at Shrewsbury, but begin at Aberystwyth, instead of in North Wales.
