Castell Coch Interior Glamorgan South Wales IMG_943

A view of the interior of Castell Coch, Glamorgan, South Wales. This is a picture of one of the rooms within the castle. The castle is quit small when compared to the scale of Caerphilly Castle which is BIG. The pointed turets of Castell Coch give it an apperance of a fairytale castle.
Situatedon the outskirts of Cardiff, well worth a visit if you get the chance.

Caer Gybi Roman Fortlet Best Preserved In UK

Posted by Llanrhystud Childminder On Thursday, August 07, 2008 1 comments

Today’s video is of Caer Gybi a small Roman fortlet located at the centre of Holyhead within the county of Anglesey, North Wales, which was once in the Roman province of Britannia.

The three-walled fort, with it's fourth side facing the sea is probably the site of a quay, for mooring boats. In the 6th century, the fort was given to Saint Cybi who founded a monastery on the site. Although the monastery has long since gone, within the walled fort today you will find the Church of St Cybi.
