Family Research Surname Harding & Lost Relatives

Posted by Llanrhystud Childminder On Monday, December 15, 2008 0 comments
Can anyone help David Harding in his quest to find his half sister? Please read on:

I, David (Drury) Harding, was born out-of- wedlock, in Canada, in 1941 and was given for adoption. I am researching my blood relatives. My birth grandfather Harry Drury and his 4 sons: Noel, Leslie, Selwyn and Wilfred lived on Melindwr Farm, near Aberystwyth (1926-1929). They came there from Prees, Shropshire and subsequently emmigrated to Canada in 1930.

Leslie (Les) was my birth father. He attended school in Eglwys-Fach and was confirmed in Pennal ( Church of England?). During this time , or shortly after he emmigrated he had a daughter born, out-of-wedlock, in Wales. As far as I know, he never had any contact with her after he came to Canada. That daughter would be my half sister. It would be amazing if I could find any information about her or her offspring. Does anyone out there know anything to help my quest? My email address is: pennyanddave[AT]gmail.com. My snail mail address is DW Harding, RR6, Smiths Falls, Ontario, Canada, K7A4S7

Reegen - Institute for Continuing Professional Development

Posted by Llanrhystud Childminder On Wednesday, December 10, 2008 0 comments
LCRW Architects, based in Aberystywth, were the first company to receive our training on BREEAM (Buildings Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) and Code for Sustainable Homes. As Reegen are members of the Institute for Continuing Professional Development, we are pleased that the training also contributed to their Continuing Professional Development.

Janet Sanders, Director of Reegen, feels that there is a gap of appreciation and understanding of the issues, costs and timescales that projects may encounter when going down the BREEAM / CSH route. These workshops provide an informal but important way of helping architects, planners, developers and other construction professionals get up to speed.
