This coming week sees the start of a season of Chartist commemorative events for the 170th Anniversary of the Rising of the people of south Wales that climaxed at Newport on November 4th 1839

Wednesday 14th October at Dowlais Library 7pm Annual Merthyr Chartist Lecture given by Prof. Owen Ashton (Staffordshire University)
Lecture will be preceded by AGM of Merthyr Chartist Forum at 6.00pm (All welcome)
Thursday 15th October at the Newport Centre 1-4 pm and 7.30-9.30 pm 'Our Voice, Our Vote, Our Freedom' organised by the Bevan Foundation

Saturday 31st at the Riverside Theatre and Arts Centre NP20 1HG, the Newport Chartist Convention organised by Accent Newport Trust et al
