    Hi
    I'm a new visitor.
Can you get rid of the black background, please? I can't read anything much on my screen. Even the white text is small & very hard to read.
    Thanks
    A65Bill

  2. Anonymous Said,

As a visiting motorcyclist over many years, I think someone has repaired something that was definitly not broken.
Is it ‘health and safety’ or pure short sightedness that compelled someone to decide that visiting motorbikes should no longer park on the prom as they have always done, but should be confined to a ‘designated’ parking area conveniently ‘out of sight, out of mind’? Previously, members of the public used to wander among the bikes and chat to the owners, often reminiscing about their days on two wheels.

Now we are told that if bikers do not park where they are told, they will be banned from the sea front altogether. Of course it’s a short step from ‘designated’ to ‘charged for’. The current arrangement is self-organised by the bikers themselves and has always worked, but this has not stopped some genius from deciding to ‘improve things’. People are funny, if you move a road 100 yards from a café, there is not a slight drop in business, there is invariably bankruptcy. People choose to congregate in places that seem obvious to them and, barring putting others in real danger or inconvenience, they should be allowed to gather where they please – especially if they are bringing spending money with them. Of course, you can insist that you are right and the spending public are wrong. This may result in them being regimented as you desire, or it may result in their going somewhere else to spend their cash.
